Love at *second sight!

Well i thought i'd share this story with u.....

I have been looking after this iguana for a friend of a friends for 1 year now....and she has decided she didn't want it back....
When we first got this little guy, he was so Crazy (in a bad way) way to nervous...tail whipping and all...he would rarely let us touch him and when we finally got him in our hands, he would scratch and run like crazy....
Too many bad sessions went by so we stopped bothering him because we thought it would do no good and it just wasn't happy for the both of us...
So we took care of him the best we could...but left him alone...
Me and my girlfriend fighted alot the past few weeks since we found out the previous owner didn't want him anymore....
And my mind was set on giving him away....my side of the debate was that he was nasty, took up too many wattages with his lights and that he wasn't happy himself....
Her side was that she loved iguanas and although she hasn't tried enough to calm him she would if we kept him....which was a bunch of bull....cause we decided there was no truth to her side....
So i found a new home for him, and arrangements had been made for them to come pick him and his enclosure up today...So an hour or so before they arrived...i wrestled with him to get him out and handle him one last time before he went away....thinking it wasn't gonna be a good handling session...i was surprised...
He wasn't nervous at all....i pet him, gave him a lil bath! sprinkled water on him, he even sat on my arm and shoulder with no thoughts of fleeing....he even sat still for a 1/2 hour getting petted while i surfed the net and had a cup of tea...
I guess he must have known something was up and he didn't want to leave....a message!
So the ppl arrived, with there friend who had brought her van to transport the enclosure and i introduced them to Peetry, and told them that i was sorry but i had decided to keep him!
I think i really pissed em off!
I called my girlfriend at work and told her the news....she is extremely happy and I will post pics soon of his new enclosure that he will love so much!
Sorry bout all the emotional ish....but im feeling a wee bit feminine today...
Just thought i'd share

G

Latchkey kids can be quite tricky to deal with, but they do have love in them somewhere!

AW!
