Jungle gym
Been thinking of some sort of jungle gym/climbing device for when I got the kids out. Anyone ever done this and if so...got any pics or ideas. Litlle Miss isn't quite a year old normal boa so one for her I think would be easy but Sniper is 6 foot and somewhere in the 10-11pound range so it need to be quite stout.

Re: Jungle gym
I've seen some pretty cool jungle gyms made from pvc pipe. Different sizes, different T-joints, elbows and such. It's safe, lightweight and easy to work with.

The pictures I've seen have snakes on them, so I assume so. But, that's just through sight, so I guess I'm assuming.
You could get some of that spray paint that looks like stone. It'll add texture and give the pvc a natural look. Just sand the pvc first so the paint sticks to it, then apply a few coats of clear coat to keep it intact. Just air it out really well before allowing the snakes to use it.

Re: Jungle gym
I'd love one of those pvc jungle gyms. The problem is I can't build ANYTHING!

PVC pipe is surprisingly easy to work with. Your collection would probably love it too.

Thanks a lot Craig! Now I really feel bad. I'm sure it probably is easy but trust me when I say I'm not even remotely mechanically inclined. When we were kids and things needed fixing my job was to hand my dad and brothers the tools and stay out of the way . It's all good though. I have other talents .

Haahahhaha!!! Wasn't my intent to make you feel bad!
If we lived closer to one another I'd build one for ya! It would make a great housewarming gift.
P.S. my brother has to call me any time he needs anything done around his house. Hang curtain rods, fix drawers, etc...call Craig.

LOL. That's too funny. I used to call my brother whenever I had something to fix or assemble. He moved back home to MI a few years ago and I've been lost ever since. I wonder how much a plane ticket would cost.

Re: Jungle gym
Yes I have that type in the enclosures now. I was thinking about when I have them out for play time/cage cleaning sort of thing.

Re: Jungle gym
It occurred to me some time ago that it would be a simple matter to cut some suitable size pvc end cap fittings in half and screw them to the sides of the enclosures. Tree branches of various sizes could be cut to fit into them to provide better grips on the perches than the smooth pvc. I had thought about building a free-standing framework and doing something similar, but I don't have a screen enclosure or something similar to contain it. A mosquito netting tent would be fine if I could figure out a way to secure the bottom.
