I think someone needs a perch

So Oatmeal decided to take her meal this way today. I guess whatever works for ya girl. Guess it is time to install a perch or two for her.

Yes that is a f/t rat fuzzy and yes it is missing a leg 🤷

Re: I think someone needs a perch

My Corn has taken a pinky or two hanging upside down from the temp probe cable for her hot hide. I just offer to her and she takes it no problem.

Re: I think someone needs a perch

Seems most snakes will climb when given the opportunity, some are just better at it than others.

Re: I think someone needs a perch

Young bci's love to climb. Definitely provide the option. To be honest the only species I would not mind not providing climbing opportunities for would be a blood python - other than that I'd always stick some branches in to give the choice...

Re: I think someone needs a perch

I finally put together my BP's enclosure this weekend, and I stood one birch log up against a corner just in case she wanted to climb a little until I find a more suitable branch for perching.

Well, lo and behold, not more that 30min later, there she was, head towards the top and tail at the bottom. I ordered some cholla branches for my four vivs this morning, I've been looking at them for the past few weeks, so they'll have better perches in a week when they arrive.

Re: I think someone needs a perch

My bp liked to climb when he was a tiny noodle.
Oatmeal was in a tub so I didn't put a perch in. Now that she is back in the AP I've added 2 perches and she is loving them.
