Need help making a lid for my tank

I'm turning my 90 gallon tank into my jungle carpet pythons (Rivington) new terrarium, but I cant seem to get any sort of lid to work for this tank.

I tried cutting acrylic sheets to size and drilling holes in them along with hinges on the back and sliding locks on the front all held with epoxy but it didn't work. The epoxy wasn't strong enough and the sheets I had were too flimsy and could easily be bowed for him to escape.

I have my old glass canopy that I kept over my fish, but it is a couple inches short as they're made that way to fit filters in the tank.

That still works out as the glass wouldn't have any airflow and I thought maybe I could do some sort of pegboard along that strip on the back, but I'm not sure how to go about keeping everything locked/held down so he can't push anything up and escape.

Any ideas or tips towards something I was already trying would be very appreciated as I'd like to move everyone up in tank size as soon as I can.
