Andromeda the Black Milk Snake

Andromeda is starting to undergo her color transformation from banded tricolor to solid iridescent black. The little dots on her scales are growing and spreading. She will also be large enough for her display enclosure soon. Sadly for her, she will soon outgrow her beloved paper towel tube too.

She is remarkably mellow for a young milk snake. My baby Mexican milk and especially my baby Nelson's x Apricot Pueblan intergrade milk both think, "Stranger danger! Run away!" when I pick them up. Andromeda looks at me as if to say, "Yo. Whassup?"

Awesome milk you've got there. A black milk is one of my must haves that I have not been able to come across.

I love bms! It will probably be a couple years before I can get my hands on one, so until then I will live vicariously through yours. Can't wait to watch the transformation!

That scarcity is why in a few years I will be breeding them. I realized there was a need when I couldn't find one anywhere. It took months of searching. They are like unicorns. Russian rat snakes, too. It's a shame that there are so few because they really make great pets.
