Question I need help Indentifying this snake. - FL

Can somebody please help me identify the snake the White Ibis has in its beak? Thanks, ADubin

Most likely a Water Snake (Nerodia sp.), but there are a few other snakes that could appear banded from that angle. Impossible to get a positive ID without a much higher resolution photo. Could you upload the photo to another site, such as photobucket, and link it? An exact location, such as the county it was found in, would be helpful as well.

Yeah, it appears to be a Southern Water Snake (Nerodia fasciata). I'm going to stop at the species level, without a location I can't be more specific. Pretty cool picture, natural acts of predation are always interesting. Thanks for sharing.
