Newest Aquisition!
Sooooo, for those of you who have been following my threads about how I couldn't have any more reptiles till I got a house...
Well, we just had our offer on a cozy home accepted! Overall it's smaller than I would have liked, but it fits me and my mom and future partner PERFECTLY!
Not going to show off the whole house, but this red room will be painted in shades of green and will be my official reptarium! It is 14 feet by 17 feet!!! Sooooo much room to work with! Also if you'll notice, it has its own heating and cooling so the room can be set at the perfect ambient temp for my scale babies at all times! The door will probably just be an extra wall though lol. There are 2 other entrances in the corner near theclosets. Ine leads to my mom's room, the other is through the kitchen and kaundry room. This room is a finished off garage. So is a bit awkward, but VERY useful for my needs!
There's not enough room for the huge fish tank I wanted, so I may do a smaller one in my room on top of a dresser. But I am ok with this. =)
Everything is all agreed on and ready, but the actual closing date is late February and we are looking to have the whole inside repainted more appealing colors (to us anyway), so move in time will be mid to late March it seems.
Without further adue...the front view and a preview of my Reptarium!

Re: Newest Aquisition!
Congratulations mink. Plenty of space for loads of reptiles in there - looks perfect.
Look forward to seeing what animals you acquire. You'll even have space for a jewelled Lacerta

Re: Newest Aquisition!
Sweet! I normally hate the idea of converted garages because of how finicky they are about temperature, and the fact that you're losing a garage, but you have a good point about being able to have a different temperature for your reptile room. Much better than having the whole house uncomfortably warm!
Only annoyance I can see here is the baseboard heater running all the way along one wall. Really limits what you can put on that side without creating a fire hazard, overheating enclosures, or disrupting heat flow to the rest of the room I like baseboard heaters under windows, but not along primary walls...at least you have the option of treating the outside door as a wall.

Re: Newest Aquisition!
If that is a concern, I will just use a nice space heater instead of the baseboard heater. Thank you for bringing that to my attention!
