Unknown snake

This snake was found in Malaysia. It was approximately 1.5 feet long. It looks like a kingsnake to me, but they're not known to be foubd in this region. I would appreciate it if anyone were to give me an insight on what snake this might be. Thanks!

Re: Unknown snake

This appears to be a Twin-barred Tree Snake/Banded Flying Snake (Chrysopelea pelias), but I'm not familiar enough with Malaysia's herpetofauna to be positive. I'd be willing to place a reasonable wager though. I am familiar enough with Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis sp.) to assure you that it is not a Kingsnake. Good looking critter, thanks for sharing. If you have any more pictures, particularly of the head, I'd love to see them.
