Do most gtp's fast in the winter?

Hey guys I have a quick question, my biak that I just purchased recently hasn't eaten yet, I got him on the 11th so just under 2 weeks ago. I have no doubt that he was eating and well taken care of as the breeder I got him from seems to really put forth a great deal of effort to ensure the quality of his reptiles is excellent, plus the snake looks nice and healthy. Im thinking it may just be a little stress from moving to a new tank but after a bunch of research I have read that it isn't uncommon for a gtp to fast for months during the winter.

Now my question is should I just offer food like once a week or every 4 days until he takes it? If he is fasting is it maybe because my home is a little cooler and he thinks its winter thats why he stopped? I have actually read that even with normal temps they can still sense what month it is and fast anyway, how true is this? I tried to make the tank and dense as possible right now so he feels a little more secure but every time I offer food he just tries to get away or hides his head. Iv tried live and pre killed, he will sniff it then just let it alone. Like I said I'm not too worried because I know two weeks is not long at all for these guys but I figured id ask anyway. Thanks in advance.
