Snake identification please

Found out at my barn, south florida. Only picture I got from my mother who is the one who saw it.

Venomous? Worried about the horses, pets and children in the area.

Thanks!

Re: Snake identification please

My knee-jerk is to say it is a Florida Pine Snake, but the picture is very small. I will say with confidence that it is non-venomous. If you'd like to be more sure of the species you could try uploading the image to photobucket and linking it. It should be much larger that way. If it will not let you post a link you can PM it to me I will post it.

Something about new posts being forbidden from links?

I agree, the picture is too blurry to give a 100% identification, but I can tell you it's definitely not venomous.

Re: Snake identification please

Please upload it to an external site and then paste the link here, the 'image attachment' system on this site always resizes pictures REALLY small.

Example: imgur: the simple image sharer

Re: Snake identification please

Agree that while the image isn't great, it definitely looks non-venomous. Which of course means that there's no need to bash its head in or even call animal control to relocate it. It's probably doing a nice job of trimming the mouse population around the barn.
