Shedding in a ball
I've noticed this with both sheds that my boa has completed, he just stays in a ball while he sheds. I watched him shed the last time, and he just continued to shed while staying coiled up, lol. He has plenty of room to stretch out and shed, but he doesn't. Quirky snakes, lol. Anyone else??

So wierd. Do you have any pics? I suspect my carpet may have done this once but I can prove it.

Re: Shedding in a ball
It was too dark last time, it was around 1am and my tripod wasn't tall enough to get pics with that slow of a shutter speed. I'll get pics next time. My carpet just cruises while she sheds.
He wasn't in a hide, just out in the open.

Re: Shedding in a ball
When I had my BCI's, every time they would shed they would do it in their hides, and the sheds would always be all rolled up, I always thought it was so strange.

Re: Shedding in a ball
My spider ball does this too i would of never know he shed if i had not seen a little bit of the shed sticking out from his hide. He actually shes in his hide. I put a damp paper towel over his hot spot inside his hide and found he had shed inside his hide in a ball. #thumbs up

I think it's a BCI thing because mine does it too, I always thought it was weird but as long as it all comes off I never worried haha! Glad to see I'm not alone!

Re: Shedding in a ball
My rainbows do it both ways. Most common though is to find it stretched out in the morning.

Re: Shedding in a ball
I find Bindi's all stretched out lol. Ezio shed in his hide the first time he shed with me, now it's just in a ball in the middle of his enclosure

Re: Shedding in a ball
I've seen my rainbow do both ways, he has lazy streaks every now and then. Most days it's stretched out, but a few times he leaves me with this little curled up quick pick up shed lol

Re: Shedding in a ball
Lol no I was talking about my BCI, the Columbian hasn't she yet. She's been coming out more but I've offered f/t twice and she has yet to take them. Doesn't even seem interested no matter what I do. But I'm not too worried yet, she's acting fine and doing great

Re: Shedding in a ball
Mine does the same thing most of the time. I've found his shed stretched out a few times, but I usually get a ball to unravel. In fact, he just shed a few days ago. Got a nice big 7-7.5ft shed. He's about 6ft 2in.
