So I have been trying to educate myself more on boas

So, a few days ago when I started looking into what type of boa I had, I got REALLY into it. The only bad thing is that there is SO much information and not enough time.
I have been a snake owner for about two years or so and learned more in the past two days than I have the entire time. Just yesterday I learned what ibd is (and had nightmares about my snake getting it.)
There's so many different types of boas with names and terms I have no clue what they are.
There was no real intention to sharing this information except I am so overwhelmed with trying to take everything in! I didn't know this topic could have been so fascinating! I just thought they were fun to look at but it's so much more.
Okay anyways thanks for reading. Feel free to leave anything I should know.

P.s. Please excuse any typos I'm on my phone

IBD, don't be afraid of it just make sure you take necessary measure for quarantining your snakes before you start building a collection of more and more and risk your other snakes you may get. if you dont know how to quarantine snakes just search it here on the forum and there are several threads that will tell you how to do it and for how long and what to look out for as well.

The Complete Boa Constrictor by Gus Rentfro, covers most if not all boa subspecies(Excluding the Colombian bcc). Covers care, breeding, diseases...etc

The IBD video I posted is very dramatic. Do not fear it. This is something people run into when they aquire and trade adult snakes from collection to collection. If you have just one snake and don't mingle with other snakes your fine. Please ask any questions you have. We have many experienced boa owners here.

Also, if you attend reptile shows, remember to disinfect thoroughtly after returning home before handling any of your own animals. You never know what the animal you touched at a show may carry, or what another visitor at the show may bring in and pass along to you....

Just try to learn one thing at a time.. I.E, try to learn about the different types of boas, and then move onto diseases like IBD, etc.

Oh man

Or try to learn as much as possible all the time. Enjoy your snake and do not fear diseases as they are not very common other than respiratory infection (a cold) or snake mites (kinda like fleas). These are by a long shot the most common things that could affect your snake. I have dealt with both very effectively and all of the info I needed came from this site.

I'm not getting overwhelmed from too much information at one time. It's more of the fact I will read one thing, an then end up reading something contradicting to what I just learned. Also the terms and acronyms are a little difficult to pick up on if nowhere is explaining what they mean.

And please don't argue it doesn't solve much ): you're both just trying to help.

Thanks for clearing that up! And unfortunately that's how it is for any snake info because everyone has their one techniques

On this site you'll find very good information on the different subspecies off Boa constrictors.
Boa constrictor subspecies | Stöckl - Die Nr.1 Boa constrictor Seite im Internet

And also some interesting facts.
Interesting facts about Boa constrictor | Stöckl - Die Nr.1 Boa constrictor Seite im Internet

But this is not all to say about boa's...The Boa Constrictor is only one off the Boa family.
The Boidea family is split into 2 sub family's. The true Boa's and th old world sand boa's.

Boidea family: Boidae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

True Boa's: Boinae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Old world sand Boa's: Erycinae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Check out each underlying genus. The true boa's have 5 genera and the old world sand boa's have 3 genera.

And a list of the boa's by common name: Category:Boinae by common name - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you would look at my signature you'll see I own 4 different species of Boa's: an Anaconda, an Amazon Tree Boa, a Sand Boa and just like you a Columbian Boa Constrictor Imperator.

Cheers.
