About the Repticon Atlanta Show:
In January 2007, thousands of guests came out to the Atlanta Reptile and Exotic Animal Show to continue a six year tradition at a great new location at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. The success of that show and the following summer show in July at the same location re-established this show in Gwinnett County. Repticon returned in 2009 to the newer, nicer, and larger Fairgrounds facility that has proven so popular with vendors and guests that in 2013 the new schedule will be four times a year! This growing show continues to delight thousands of guests in one the nation's largest metro areas, so if you call the Atlanta area home, head out for the biggest and most exciting reptile show in Georgia!

Re: Repticon Atlanta - November 16 & 17, 2013

Hello! Yesterday I made the haul up to Gwinnett county fairgrounds for Repticon Atlanta. It was awesome! The thing I liked most is the variety. It was exciting to walk past 5 or 6 different vendors all with different species/ morphs. I brought several hundred bucks just in case I stumbled upon something I "needed". A hand painted 32oz beer mug depicting a green viper of sorts was my needed item this trip.
My only complaints/grievances would be the strollers, seriously people? Why the need for a golfcart sized stroller when your monsters are gonna run wild all over the place anyways? The other thing that bothered me was a certain "type" of persons that were there. They were the people that bring 3-5 children to the show as a "petting zoo". It was frustrating to have to wait 5 or 10 mins to look at someone's table because one of the "petting zoo" types was looking and touching a pretty lizard. I could see others who were annoyed was well. I thought it odd that some vendors were content blabbering with "petting zoo" types, while people like myself had to stand back and wait with pockets full of money.Well that about finishes my rant. I had a good time all the same and I'm looking forward to going again next Nov!

Primal Rage,

I also stopped by Repticon yesterday and it was a very nice show! Much more variety than the summer show with more vendors as well. It was rather crowded and I agree with you about the people using it as a petting zoo. There was one group of two women and about 5-6 kids that obviously were not there shopping as they would scream if there was a snake out of it cage being held by the owner and the kids kept tapping on every container with a snake or lizard in it to get it to move or react. I understand that they paid their entry fee the same as everyone else, but there is (or should be) a behavior protocol where you at least keep the kids from banging on the cages. Other than that though, it was a very good show.

Jim,
That's good to hear you made it too! I thought the turnout for vendors was really good. I try to hit the spring and fall shows. The summer ones tend to have less tables. I'm pretty sure I know who you are talking about involving the "screamers". Lol, that's funny.
