Thank you, D Grade. A. scutatus are capable of producing a lethal bite, but there have not been a lot published case studies. Among the few published reports is a fatal bite to a 4-year old child, in which the cause of death was cardiac arrest. However, they're also relatively small and clumsy, so its relatively easy to avoid a bite if you stick to the common management protocols.
