My humble pet room

So as some of you know I moved not to long ago into a house. Ever since I've been in a constant state of trying to organize, clean and setup things up how I want. Often changing things as I go or after things are set move it all around again. I always wanted an indoor space that was just for me to relax (outdoor space is for another year). Yes being alone means the whole place is mine as was pointed out by my parents but I still wanted to setup a place that wasn't for entertaining friends etc and just a nice place to sit and relax that was setup purely for me to enjoy and if others happened to enjoy it on occasion fine. So I've ended up with this pet room. Left to right is as follows. A 24x18x24 for a vine snake currently on hold. Still have to set up the misting system. The plants were just added today. The larger cage is a 48x24x16 holding Mushu. Top cage is 24x24x12 awaiting an MBK (unknown date of when it will be occupied as you can tell I'm ready). My cat Nahla hanging out on top of a reclining love seat. She likes sitting on the top when people are on a couch hence the blanket which is easier to keep clean then constantly vacuuming the couch. Obviously her cat tree/scratching post I made and my 10g planted aquarium with a few guppies in it.

Great setup, the distance between beer to arm rest is perfect mate top points

That's the spot I was sitting Perfect vantage point to look at everything and place to put my beer.

Re: My humble pet room

I love seeing couches that don't have TVs directly across from them. Looks like a great space to just relax and enjoy your animals Wish I had a spare room to do that with. I do have a decent walk-in closet where my tarantula collection is housed, but I wouldn't be able to set up seating in there.

No TV's going in that room or sound system. Not what the room is for.

Nice space!

I'd like a closer pic of that planted aquarium - it looks pretty.

I have to do a water change on it today but I'll snap a close up once it's all done being cleaned up.

Re: My humble pet room

Very nice! I've actually just finished converting our spare room into something similar. I don't have a couch - just a computer desk and chair. But, I'm surrounded by all my herps. It's nice to be able to just go sit and watch them. Anyway, well done!

Thanks, my desk is in the basement. I'd never get any work done if I was surrounded by distractions. I don't use my desk often but I'll be back in school for a few weeks so will need a space to work and study.

Re: My humble pet room

A close up and further back the view I have from the couch. A few male guppies and a couple khuli loaches who are hiding right now.

Re: My humble pet room

Well done. A couple things: I'm a huge fan of planted tanks, what all is in the left side there? I think I can see mosses, Anubias and Java Ferns? I also see helmets, what do you ride?

Re: My humble pet room

We don't have a dedicated herp room as such (although 1 living area has been taken over by herps), we have herps in four rooms in our house.

Re: My humble pet room

Beautiful tank, is it dirted? Your sword is extremely healthy! I've got a 33gal planted that I plan to rescape soon - I've actually been into fishkeeping longer than reptile keeping. I never tire of seeing beautiful tanks such as yours.
