Re: New Black Racer Pics!!

I use black racers and coach whips as part of my venomous training teaching. Because they are fast and nasty, my students have to handle them without protection and not get bit. Once you master that, most venomous snakes are nothing in comparison.

Re: New Black Racer Pics!!

The black racers are all over the place where I live. I see at least one every day. Sometimes I will see two or three different snakes in the same day and it's pretty fun to watch them. On Sunday I spent a good 10 minutes following one around as it was hunting. Then I went out by the pool and almost stepped on one that was basking. I'd probably never own one because of their temperament(I want a snake that can tolerate handling), but they're enjoyable snakes to come across in the wild.

Awe, man....... Where were you in the species progression thread. I brought up racers as hot training tools. You could have chimed in.lol

That's what I love about finding racers. They're always so happy to see you and try to give you kisses...Too much teeth for me personally.

I would like to add for newbies reading this, he's not saying if you can handle a racer you can handle venomous snakes. Learn from someone with experience if you want to work with hots.

Exactly Dealing with Racers or Coach Whips can be a small part of a venomous training program.
