Type of lizard
What are some larger lizards that would be suitable housed in a 7'h x4x4'

depending on what type of care level your willing to commit to, that size cage could make a very nice display for a chameleon (or two). There are larger ones (oustalets, mellers), or crazy colorful (panthers, veiled, carpet)... though you cant house multiple males, and housing males with females can lead to bullying, and multiple females are often not as pretty.

I believe with carpet chams it is the females who are the nicer looking ones.

theyre also a little small to make a nice cisplay animal with such a large cage, Poison  i have a similar cage back home in NY (6 ft tall, by 3x3) that i used for veileds, i cant wait to be established again so i can start them up! Of course, it might also make a nice carpet python cage too... hmmm

Solomon Island Prehensile Tailed Skink are pretty cool. I'm not sure on the pricing though, may be high.

Then why not a Green tree monitor? Have you seen the "thereptilewhisperer" videos on youtube, Kathy keeps and has bred that species, she does a great job with them?

Tree monitors would work. So would CWD's.
Or you could do a tank with a few smaller, co-habing animals, like anoles or something.

You could get a tree monitor, a water dragon, a basilisk, or a frilled dragon. If the enclosure doesn't allow for a lot of ventilation then I'd probably avoid a chameleon. If the enclosure DOES allow plenty of ventilation, however, then a chameleon's a great choice.
