I have a friend that's a vet tech. About 3 years ago they were handed over a dumerils by animal control that had been found in a corn field in Winston Salem, NC. She immediately called me to find her a home, I wasn't looking to take in more animals at the time cause i was still keeping crocodilians and varanids at the time; nor was i that familiar with the species so I made some calls and found a buddy that wanted her. He was out of town at the time so I held onto her for a few weeks. She was one of the sweetest snakes I'd ever interacted with. He asked how big she was so I measured her with the old trust string on the spine trick 10 times and took the average. She was 8'7", at the time I had no idea this was large for Dums. Now I'm kicking myself in the teeth for letting her go. Hindsight I should have sold my d*#khead spectical caiman and kept her.
