Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python
Thanks man, that means a lot. Like ive said in my videos, I respect my snakes and I treat them as if its a privilege for them to allow me to hold them. Everytime I put one back, I say, "thanks for letting me hold you and thank you for not bitting me" lol
This is my 9th snake and its the first one Ive bought a snake hook for... I knew what I was getting into
P.S. I cant wait to own a Green Anaconda. I actually drove 45 min to buy one but when I arrived it didnt look too healthy (it had two raised and very swollen scales near the necK). So I decided to hold off.

Two things.
1. You don't need a hook. You're too slow. Once you reveal her grab her before she notices anything and remove her. Won't bite you anymore than she did in the video.
2. If it's a privilege that they allow YOU to hold them why are you forcing this one? That's no longer a privilege but considering it a must or a right.

Green annies are awesome, the one I watched for a few months was extremely docile. Didn't like being taken out of the water though.

No idea, I know that he was always fed in the water and I'd let him soak in the bath for 30 minutes a day. Whenever I picked him up out of the bath he would puff up and give a slight hiss so that is a possibility but I was never bitten.

Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python
So I tried feeding the WLP yesterday and she struck at the mouse over and over even coiling and releasing it, but not eating it. The last time it coiled on the mouse, it didnt release so obviously the mouse died but she didnt eat it. So I left the mouse in her cage overnight and this morning the mouse is still there. Ive only had her since Monday and I didnt find out when they fed her last... Im not too worried but I wanted to see if any of WLP owner ever have problems feeding.

I kind of had respect for you.
Now you've lost it. Purely based on the fact you haven't gotten this snake to eat yet and you've been messing around with handling.
I thought you actually had this animal for awhile before making that video. Selfish keepers.

Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python
On the feeding i would give it a week with no handling. Let her settle in then try again. As for striking, killing and not eat my use to do it about every other time i fed. So i started just feeding every two weeks and he eats every time. Unless in shed.

Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python
Great looking WLP! I never use a snake hook on my white lip (mainly because I don't own one) but since he's always in his hide I will lift the back of the hide enough to get my hand on the biggest part of his body that I can and I pull him and the hide up at the same time then just set the hide down once he's out. The trick with these guys once you get them out is to keep them moving. You'll figure out what works best for yours the more you work with her. Kudos for what you said earlier about keeping her no matter what. I totally agree. I love these guys.
