I know next to nothing about rosy boas--- are they generally nippy? lol Lovely though!

Normally not that bad, can have a decent feeding response, but it just seems that practically every one i handle tries to eat me, it isn't a defensive bite, it is a full on chew and try and get to a position to eat me bite, they don't realise there is no chance of them managing it lol.

They are nice little snakes, i'll never go mad with them and have loads, but i like having a few around.

I've had rosys that wouldn't bite no matter what you do, and others that bite any chance they get!

Yea guess it is down to the individual snake like most things, does seem that rosys try and eat me more than most other species, well apart from kings lol.

Our rosy has not bitten any of us so far, and I have young children who handle him fairly often. When we first brought it home it had skipped its last feeding, and for a day he would "tooth" at me, open mount against my arm like trying to get an angle on a meal, but not striking. After feeding at home the first time he hasn't done that any more.

Personality of rosys seems more on the primal side of the snake spectrum, not as in aggressive but more like "ok here I am; eat? too big, rest my jaws. ok here I am. eat? yum. ok here I am. Unnngh that felt good to get out my tail part. ok here I am. burrow. ok here I am. eat?"

Strikes fast when eating, but all other times is very slow and methodical. Not particularly nervous or antsy, likes to burrow until late evening and then will roam around, especially if getting close to food day. Very predictable so far, tolerant and good around kids. I'd recommend to anyone who isn't looking for a circus performer.

I love that first Rosy!!! Beauty!

My rosy has not bitten as of yet, it's very hard to make him mad. He is very "trusting" and calm, he just drapes himself over your hands like a rope, unlike my BP who is very clingy and rigid.

I've heard males are calmer than females.

Ah in my experience it has been the males that have been more bitey and the females that have been more laid back.
