I'm assuming its something coastal. Previous owner said jungle, but I'm not too sure. I'm open to suggestions

Re: Exercise day :)
i don't know of a way to identify sex of a Carpet Python from pictures mate
he/she is looking good though
re cloacal probe
males = a depth of 9 - 11 subcaudal scales
females = 3 to 5 subcaudal scales
sometimes males can probe as females,if they push their hemipenes against the probe
cheers shaun

Re: Exercise day :)
shaun....i have no qualms about the procedures i do in the ER. however....i am really nervous about probing. what are the ups and downs of it? from what i gather, gently insert ky jellied probe towards the tail (caudal) and see how far the probe goes by counting scales? what am i missing? i just don't want to hurt him/her....

Looks like a Coastal to me, too.
That's not to say there isn't Jungle in there, as you can never be 100% certain of a Carpet's locality unless you know their lineage..

This is the only way unless you can smell snake pheromones.
My female has a much fatter tail than my males.
Pictures can't do it. It's a myth.
