SHED will not come off
My BP{ Nina } took forever to shed so i kept an eye on her and read some posts that said it was normal for BP's to take awhile. Finally she shed everything but her head. I have been giving her baths, shed aid spray, high-humidity but nothing, and its been about a week now since the shed. i want to just take it off for her but that is probably a bad idea.

sorry real bad ipod camera but its a reference

Re: SHED will not come off
Does it go all the way around her head? What are your temps and humidity? Is there anything a little rough for her to rub her head on in her viv?

Re: SHED will not come off
my ball was a problematic shedder too. i just leave her in a container with a towel and shallow warm water for about 15 mins or so. it should help alot.

Re: SHED will not come off
I would do the towel and warm water, if any of my bps have a bad shed they get it off within 15-30 minutes.

Re: SHED will not come off
you can place her in a damp pillowcase, knot the end, put her somewhere safe, and let her slither around, and she will get moist and it will rub off on it's own. : )

Re: SHED will not come off
I have only had to use the pillowcase once (on two snakes at the same time that i adopted from the pound...both had many stuck sheds all over them, including stuck eye-caps, called specticals).
I set them each in a pillowcase, with a rough washcloth to add something else in there they could smush against, in a ten gallon tank. Made sure it was very moist. They can slither, and settle and be dark, and not upset. I put a lid on even though i was sure they couldn't escape the sacks.
The cloth is porus, so they won't suffocate.
Left them there for a while. Don't let them get too cold, though.
Eventually, i did take one out at a time and gently rub them with a wet rough washcloth, and the leftover sheds peeled away.
You can check the shed for the eyecaps to make sure they come off. You'll be able to see them!

Re: SHED will not come off
Once you have this shed sorted out make sure your husbandry is right for next time what humidity do you keep her tank at?

Re: SHED will not come off
Use the pillow case it will work...
I take it you keep your snake in a fish tank? Cover the lid with something( anything) to help keep in humidity. A moist hide is a good thing but proper humidity through out the tank is better.

Re: SHED will not come off
What Rob said.
Also, there is no such thing as a "bad shedder", that's a cop out from the owner. The reason your snake had a bad shed was because you didn't provide the peoper conditions for a perfect shed. Fix that and you 'll have a good one piece shed every time.

This. OP was asked what the humidity levels were twice, and I believe she never gave them, which likely means she doesn't know. Get a digital hygrometer and fix the humidity levels.
