Just to touch on this. Some of the original L.t.sinaloae that were brought in by Randy Limburg and a few others were not only collected in the two previous areas mentioned. Actually, most L.t.sinaloae you see in the hobby today come from a large stretch of real estate covered by these guys in the 1980's. They traveled Hwy 150 and Hwy 15 between Mazatlan and Culiacan and also towns in between. It is probably just safe to say that they where collected within the state of Sinaloa. From Mazatlan north west to Culiacan and from La Cruz north east to Cosala.
The Cosala that we see in the hobby today are just a line bred look from original animals that were collected by Lloyd Lemke and a line that was brought in by Don Wilson of 7 Generations. I cannot get any specific locale data on either of the lines except that they were from that area. So to be truthfully honest I consider them to be generic. They definitely are some of the prettiest and brightest in the hobby today.
The Mazatlan L.t.sinaloae that I have, originated from Jim Nyham in the late 1970's and was collected just north of Mazatlan, Sinaloae. This line stayed pure and was not bred into any other lines as there was 3 breeders before me that kept good data and never introduced any other line. These are one of two solid locale lines that we have in the hobby.(that I kow of) The other line is actually from Durango, MX and was collected 5 miles south of the Sinaloa border on a ranch.
A little more detailed information for you, John.
