It happens to the best of us. You don't need to prove yourself to anybody, especially on the internet. If someone judges you by your first post as irresponsible then they clearly just don't have a good understanding of what herping is all about. While there are 8 billion preventative measures you can take to try and avoid mishaps, the worst mistake you can make is underestimating the unpredictability that comes with owning reptiles. Good luck with your search.
