new to me baby BRB , some feedback needed.
Well , here is my baby i just got , he is doing very well and looks great! I'm here to learn some of the finer details of keeping these guys . right now his viv is at 78 ambiant , 88% humidity , 73 on the cool side and 83 on the warm side with 3 hides , 1 on the warm with moss , 1 on the cool with moss and 1 in the middle thats dry and some plants and vines to climb in . I'm using Repti - bark with some moss mixed it and its working well. Does this sound good so far? he has been eating f/t fuzzies , 1 per week. Not nippy at all , and deals well with handling but wants to explore .

All sounds very acceptable. Should do very well in that setup.

Sounds like you got it, humidity needs included. I really do like this BRB.

Very pretty! Your setup is sound.
As far as food, you may want to up the prey size. My little one came to me already on adult mice and she was not quite 3 months old when I got her. The breeder told me these guys can take a large food item as a hatchling and my girl is doing great.

Re: new to me baby BRB , some feedback needed.
He looks great! Congratulations on the new member of the family, and on doing solid care research.
In response to someone else's comment, by fuzzies, do you mean rats or mice? If it's rats the meal *may* be a bit big (he looks thinner than your fingertip?); if mice, a bit small (they can take mouse hoppers as babies).
What type of moss are you using? I've tried several, and found that New Zealand sphagnum works the best.
Glad to hear he has adjusted well. Brazilians are very curious and active snakes, so his interest in exploration is a great sign. Well done!

Re: new to me baby BRB , some feedback needed.
I have been using only cypress mulch for substrate for my brb and longicuada but after making frog vivs with eco earth and sphagnum moss and bark all mixed together I think I am gouing to mix in eco earth and sphagnum for the snakes too.

Re: new to me baby BRB , some feedback needed.
I am also going to make a switch for the BRB after a month or so once he is not stressed. I have found compressed 2cu ft bales of moss on Amazon.com for 20$ or so that will likley last more than a year , and mixed with some cypress is very cost effective and easy to clean and my guy loves to burrow down in it.

Re: new to me baby BRB , some feedback needed.
Shmoges, that sounds like it will work and look great. The one caution I have heard on eco earth is that it tends to get *everywhere*. It you've already worked with it for frogs you are probably aware of and fine with that, but I just thought I'd mention it.
