Such an awesome snake! You may have just sealed the deal! I think I can build an enclosure quite similar to that as well!

Carpet Python! I wish I was allowed to have one because they look and sound like amazing snakes. All these posts just taunt me! (I can't get one because I am only 14 and my parents don't want anything bigger than a corn snake.

Re: What kind of snake to get next?

have you checked your local pound or shelter? They will probably have a boa or a python that you could rehome for really cheap.
If you want something more exotic though...i lean towards sand boas, hognose snakes, or maybe a carpet python.

I'm planning on getting a few from the pound. I love the idea of getting a rescue. But I don't think I would be much help if it ended Up requiring special needs. For now I'm thinking i want to get a carpet...

Personally I don't recommend you breed a snake that has a kink on his body.
Here is an old thread we have about whether or not to breed a snake with a kink: http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/front...ink-spine.html

I do suggest a Green tree python, some will say GTP is diffcuilt to keep but what it take is some common sense and understanding. Watching them to change colour is very rewarding.

We need a few of the boa people throwing up some nice pics as well... you know all in the name of research and making an educated decision

Three days after feeding he comes out of his arboreal hide and that's the kind of "scenes" I walk into.. they really are quite the show offs, not shy at all and will cruise around to the enclosure deep into the night.
