She's heeere! My FWC

I know she is not full venomous but I put it here anyway.
Still needs a name...open to suggestions. Hatch day, Feb 16, captive breed. She is a sweetheart! The girl I got her from really worked with her. She has no head shyness and is eating f/t mice fuzzies. I am so excited, I have been waiting for her so patiently
Sorry the pics kinda suck, going to get better ones when she is settled in a bit.

Here she is......

False Water Cobra, all I really know about them is that they are rear-fanged and are supposed to be freaking awesome snakes to work with. I've never heard of anyone disappointed with one. Congrats on the new snake!

Re: She's heeere! My FWC

These little guys fascinate me. I wouldn't mind having one some day.

Re: She's heeere! My FWC

Stunning new addition !

They are great snakes to work with !

I also have three of these but they are unfortunately not as well-mannered as your little one and tend to think everything is either food or a threat haha...

I hope you enjoy her !

p.s Do not fool yourself in thinking they are not "full venomous". They actually have pretty strong venom that can cause some problems if chewed in properly (by larger specimens). If my memory serves me well their venom compares in toxicity to some of the rattle snakes according to Dr.Brain Fry in a conversation we had a while ago, although that shouldn't be a problem due to a poor delivery system.

Regards
Louis.

Last I heard, theyre on School St in downtown Lodi close to where Woolworth used to be, across the street from the post office. These pics were taken a couple of years ago before they moved to the School St location. We had a blast there. I just wish I could find that pic of the FWC there.

Before I got her I was actually lucky enough spend some time with both the mother and father. Both are great snakes who do very well with handling. The girl I got her from wanted me to spend some time with the parents and be there for a feeding to get a first hand look and the feeding response...all I can say is WOW! I learned a lesson that day...their "safe" end while feeding is just as painful when you get a nice tail whip lol. This little one wasn't feeding right off the bat so she held on to her for a while to get her going and spend a lot of time handling her. I think this is why she is so well mannered.

As for the venom, I am well aware that they are not to be taken lightly. She is treated with plenty of respect (as all my snakes are), and works well with a hook. Today she has been out all day exploring her cage, even following me along the glass as I walk by.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, she will definitely have a thread keeping everyone updated on her progress.
