Blue tree monitors? Yeah, they are kept here. I know a few people personally who have success with them, but they are definitely not a first time monitor.
I couldn't keep up with that many lol!

They are soooooo beautiful. The green ones too

Savs aren't monitors? I'm confused....

They're varanids. I know that for sure.

Off to do some research so I don't have to be an idiot anymore lol

Re: Hades! my Savannah Monitor

Correct me if I'm wrong, Trollbie, but I think she was referring to blue tree monitors (Varanus macraei).

Savannahs are monitors.

I have a green tree monitor (technically two, but my brother is "borrowing" my male).

I sit at work most days doing nothing but editing photos. If I didn't have the social interaction in the form of forums, I'd lose my mind.

Re: Hades! my Savannah Monitor

same here! im on unemployment insurance. In Canada we have this program! i worked 1200 hours in the summer working asphalt construction and i get 600 bucks every 2 weeks. Im going back to school September for an electrician.

But this winter off i needed a hobby. and i was always intrested in reptiles. so i decided to get a bearded dragon. well i went to the pets store and said i want that one is it easy? and she obviously said. oh savannah monitors are very easy! the first thing i did was go to a forum, and that's when i said oh no im killing my monitor! ( well actually hedy said "your killing your monitor" like she does to everyone that technically is killing there monitor) and after around 4 grand i believe my sav is going to be happy in her 8x4! if i would have just known this from the beginning i could have saved around 3 grand. but it doesn't matter because i have a best friend im boring i know hahah

Haha I was going to buy fish food one day and came home with Penelope

I joined this forum the first night I brought her home... I was clueless and I know joining a hermit crab forum (when I had them) saved my hermies' life.

Re: Hades! my Savannah Monitor

The Zoo-Med one doesn't last as long. And yes, I have pictures of my green tree(s). I'll post them in another thread.
