They're easy lap snakes, come in a ton of patterns and colors, and stay around 4ft but nice and chunky

I thought about that, but like you said they are kind of lap snakes. I've held mulitple ball pythons and they just kind of sit there. I don't want anything too crazy, but I'd like it if they moved a little bit more. I also thought about getting a milk snake, but they are kind of like corns and i'd like something a little different.
