Re: My New Wheels!!!

I'm SO sorry to hear about your accident Rob I must say though - for all that, you are one of, if not THE cheeriest most positive member's on this forum, just from what I have gathered from your posts - that's VERY admirable, especially since people can be sour about their lot in life when they really have it better than they seem to think, and IMO, they shouldn't be complaining.
I bet you have FANTASTIC upper strength! I have an uncle in a wheel chair who's more active that anybody his age that I know of, and would put most younger people to shame. He also loves life more than most I know, I love him even more for his attitude. I believe a lot of people should learn from it.
Congrats on the new wheels, that chair looks fantastic!

Re: My New Wheels!!!

Thanks. Yeah up til recently my shoulder/chest/arm strength was better than when i was training every day! REcently tho my shoulders are getting worse due to the Fibromyalgia and i have developed acute tendonitis in my hands from using the manual chair.

Docs say that if i continue using the manual chair it is likely that i will rupture the tendons and then be unable to use my hands at all so had to move into the powered chair instead.

In terms of attitude - you have two choices - laugh or cry, i hate crying so had no choice really!!

End of the day my accident enabled me to see my daughter grow up, first steps, first words, first day at school etc (she was 8months when i had the accident). I also get to spend time with my animals and my beautiful wife. Most of which i would have missed out on whilst working and training 90 hours a week.

I think my signature sums up my thoughts!

I LOVE your signature, I remember being more inclined to post after reading it because, to be honest, it can be a little intimidating posting on forums when you know your posts are being read and scrutinized by many experts, some who may scrutinize a little too harshly, or may read between the lines and make negative assumptions, so it's always nice to have "nice" people around to help keep things from getting ugly when unwaranted, uneccessary rudeness and childish behavior creeps into the threads. That stuff has no place in an educational forum, IMO...now I'm rambling! oops! lol
Sorry to hear about why you need this chair, that really sucks Good on ya though, for the VERY good things (in bold) that have come from it. Made me smile very big on the inside when I read that, and I couldn't agree more!

That's Robs most admirable quality.
