You never know they might start a breeding program for the oenpelli python over here soon, they are a great looking snake and if our government leaves it too much longer we might lose these all together.

the oenpelli python is another of your naitive snakes i'd love to see in the flesh.especially their ability to change colour.the rough scaled do a similar thing re colour changing.peter krauss has kept a captive pair of oenpelli's since he obtained them as juveniles in 1974.he has had success in breeding them.so fingers crossed your goverment don't drag their heels with loads of red tape and let a breeding project for these wonderfull big pythons take place soon.it would be such a shame to loose these intriguing pythons.
carinata i cant wait to see the pictures of your new babys.
cheers shaun

Yeah i had heard from a close friend of mine that as they are so high in demand by foreign zoo's, that they are considering exporting a couple of established c/b snakes in a few years.

that would be great,i think its going to be at least the 10 year plus mark before they filter down to folk like myself.no doubt the prices will be sky high on the first ones let out to private breeders.probaly be the germans who get their hands on them first,if the albino's and all the rest are anything to go by.
cheers shaun

Re: watch
Yeah i would have it a guess if they are legally exported it will take 4-5 years or if cause our government is too slack. They will end up being taken illegally anyway and as i have been told germany has nearly all our snakes by the sounds of it so will proberly end up there.
