Pastel breeding my largest female for the second time!
Bristen's male pastel and my largest female at it for the second time!
I'm starting to think I need to probe some of my females because there is some he won't touch, including my proven female from last year. Better probe her too!lol
Thanks for looking,
Trevor

Thanks! So do I! I just hope the other females come around. So far he's only batting 50%, I think. I'll have to check. I know he bred this girl twice and Togo once but he may have had another one too. Or I could be confused with the fact that this is the first one he locked up with.
Cheers,
Trevor

Trevor, nice picture! As far as the other females are concerned, it does not necessarily mean they are not females... maybe they are just not ready yet for some reason... also, there's still many weeks left, don't give up just yet!
Keep us posted!
Bristen.

oh another thing that just came to mind Trevor, if some are not females, you probably would be seeing some "male-to-male" combat? I placed the pastel with the huge burgundy male at my place and the pastel got quite a beating LOL! He litterally "jumped" out of the tub when I opened it and "flew" out.. I caught him in mid-air before he hit the ground... the burgundy was quite agressive and the pastel seems a lot more laid-back...
anyways, I wouldn't think that two males in the same tub would get along much this time of year... however, probing will obviously make things 100% clear... just some thoughts...
Later,
Bristen.

Keep in mind you guys also started pretty late in the season, I didn't really notice and decent copulations until 2 months into lower temps (December). Good luck though and keep at it.

Trevor,
It could also be that when you put him with the other females, they might of just had quickies, its nice to see them locked up for 12 hours or more, but quickies can't be ruled out.

I know that the others are female I was just joking about that. You're right Marc. I had a quicky result in eggs before. The first time I tried to breed actually. I didn't know she was gravid and I sold her to Don P. She was nice enough to lay 6 slugs for him.lol
Live and learn.lol
Cheers,
Trevor

I don't think January is starting late. Oh and last night when I got home at 9:30pm they were still locked up!
Cheers,
Trevor
