Took another one outside, Zuko's turn! (Purple albino retic)
Taking a freshly shed Zuko outside is a lot more fun than taking Xena outside! (At least a lot less tiring) He seemed to be enjoying himself out in the sun. He just slowly followed me around the yard, it was a nice experience. The harsh light washed out his colour a bit, but I'm satisfied. He has definitely shed his baby look, beginning to look like a serious retic now! He's very rapidly catching up to Xenas size even though he is 2 years younger and male, just shows what pure mainland does compared to a dwarf mix.
Also took a picture of his first chicken later that night, not a single supplier near me (2h radius) that still sells rabbits! So many breeding animals have been killed by a new virus, it's nearly impossible for me to find any food for my larger snakes... I'll manage somehow though.. This time around i found chickens.. So far Zuko and Kira had chicken, both grabbed them without hesitation (Kira had some issues finding where to start eating, with the feathers being in the way). Zuko had no issues with it, ate it just as fast as he would a rabbit.. However, he decided he also wanted the hook that i was using to serve dinner... (Last picture taken last night)

Haha that last picture is hilarious. He'd eat that hook in a heartbeat if you let him. He's looking good!

Thx Mac, he has filled out nicely already, none of my dwarves had this much girth at such a young age.. Only my other mainland did. It's nice to have Mainland / Superdwarf / Dwarf / Mix at the same time, really shows how different they grow. I love the close up as well, he came up to nearly eye hight to check me out

Thanks Danny, I'm a bit surprised myself how much i love the morphs. Before I had 6 normals (pure island forms)/ 1 morph.. Now I have 1 normal haha

He's beautiful Tsubaki and see what you mean about him starting to look like an adult and boy has grown. I love seeing photos of this boy but then you know what I'm like with purples

Thx Dave, he sure has grown! And I know what you're like, I'm the same with purples.. Love that girl of yours too! She's probably going to give Zuko a run for his money in terms of size though, he is male after all.

I wouldn't be so sure about that she seems to have slowed right down in the growth department at the moment lol, but it's like we both know. You never know what size these snakes will get to when there babies that's the beauty of it

You never know that's true! I expected Xena to get huge, but the older she gets the more I'm accepting it's not gonna happen.. Think I should praise myself lucky if she makes it to adult dwarf size :|

I'm sorry if you've said before mate but is there or has there been problems with Xena, my memory is shot to bits here . Lisa is calls me Dory like the fish out of Finding Nemo, it gives her endless hours of fun living with me. Im thinking of changing my signature to every minute is a freakin adventure

Re: Took another one outside, Zuko's turn! (Purple albino retic)
No real problem, I think there's just been a mix-up and I haven't been able to pinpoint what exactly happened. I have my suspicions though!
She was imported from Prehistoric pets US, sold by The Reptile room UK in the Netherlands, so it wasn't the breeder selling her. They had some tigers but nothing that caught my eye, asked if they had anything else. They did. She was behind the counter (because she had started to shed(badly)).. I fell in love and bought her.. They sold her as 'Tiger Het. Albino", that's all the box said.. He said she was a year old (born 2012) mainland, she seemed a bit on the small side for that, but who was i to say she wasn't at that point, they could have fed her slowly is what i thought..
So! I went with the assumption of her being fed slowly to clarify her size, figured that she would catch up with regular feedings.. She grew constantly and never refused a meal, but still she seemed to lack in size.. -for a mainland her age... It confused me! Either I think she was a dwarf (mix?) that was sold as a mainland by accident.. Or they got her age wrong and she was one of the 2013 hatchlings.. I did contact them and they did say it was a possibility she got mixed up behind the counter, nobody is perfect and they agreed her size seemed a little off for her age.. Time will tell. So far my money is set on that she's a dwarf (mix), just because i have had many dwarfs and her growth pattern is incredibly similar. Either way it doesn't matter! She is gorgeous, she is healthy, she eats like a champ... If she turns out to be a dwarf I'll be happy to have her, if she turns out to be a year younger and still has a spurt to go.. I'll be just as happy!

Reminds me of River, even with 15-20% and sometimes going over, she's about to turn 2 years and she's not even 8' yet. I wonder if her breeders feeding her mouse fuzzies every 2 weeks for her 6 months really stunted her this much, or if she's got some dwarf in her, too. She's been growing a lot more lately, but she keeps hitting holes where she doesn't grow any at all in length, even when eating big meals. I won't complain if she stays small, but I would still like her to reach her potential.
