Re: What snake is this?

Looks to be a mangrove snake.

rear-fanged. Can get fair sized and in general has a nasty attitude, especially at night.

Speaking of rear fanged snakes how would you rate a false water cobra? I have been debating if i want to get one or not. I hear different stories and care sheets. Some say treat it like any hot and do not handle and others say treat it like a hog nose

Honestly?

I'd handle ANY rear fang like a hot. There is photographic evidence on this site of a 'simple' hognose bite. It may not have been life threatening but it's still a lot of discomfort I'd personally prefer to avoid.

Snake hooks all the way.
