Unknown snake by children's bus stop

hello friends! This picture was taken by the kids bus stop in Rutland, MA. Can anyone tell me what kind of snake this is without seeing the head? Thanks in advanced for your input ! This has caused some concern in the neighborhood. There have been recent rumors of rattlesnakes in the town of Rutland, MA.

I can't give a definitive answer based on that pic. My brother lives in Rutland. Awesome little town.

It is 100% NOT a rattlesnake or any other venomous snake. If you don't know, you shouldn't guess. Causing unwarranted fear can get snakes killed for no reason.

This is an eastern milksnake.

The original post suggested rattlesnake I just shed some light on it.
The body looks thick to be a milksnake so I would say without better picture we obstain from judgement. It boggles my mind what type of snake that is but your right it is not likely a rattlesnake and by the patterning definitley not a copperhead. Its illegal to kill a rattlesnake in the state of Massachusetts there protected, you could go jail for that or face a $10,000 fine so dont worry about that.
so lets say for now that we dont know what this snake is

It's most definitely an Eastern milk snake. Completely harmless.
