Re: Breeding question

Why do you have a DSM 4? I have one too :). Paradise lost by milton is good if you can understand it. Its terribly old. If you haven't read the full divine comedy you should. :robo:

Re: Very Happy With Her

Pretty snake. Those bowtie saddles scream hypo. Is there such a thing as hypo pastel? Thought the definition of pastel is nice color with little to no blacks on the sides with a washed out appearance?

Re: I've just bought a red tail boa,

You have lots to consider when planning out caging requirements for boas. As a general rule you can house boas for life in 4ft x 2ft x 1 ft. Others will argue there is not enough space. Understanding...

Re: Substrate for my boa

Snakes spend their lives on the ground or in trees where the substrate provides grip. I believe that snakes are less stressed when the substrate they are on provides a surface they can grip. Paper...

Re: Morph or normal?

When you see two snakes in one enclosure and they appear to be "cuddling" or "like being together" is really snakes competing for the best spot.... This is human emotion projected onto something they...

Re: New viv set up for CA dwarf pastel boa (mario)

Yep. Who else would have to provide for your snakes?! I've heard of and know people who build rooms for their snake or snakes. Not just snakes in cages in a room but the room is the cage. To each his...

Re: Boa not eating

Yep. Keep it up. Go slow. Better to have a slow growing small snake than no snake at all.

Re: Harley - Central American ?!?

Some people postulate that colder climates produce darker snakes. Think about it. Snakes are ectothermic and require the sun to warm them up. If their environment is generally colder then they...

Re: Jungle Boa, Looking for name ideas =)

How is this boa a Jungle? Not attacking you, I'm just curious of the criteria you used. I see no broken head stripe, no missing upside down triangles (lateral saddle aspects), no deliniation of color...

Nice snake! I have a normal BCI that has tons of orange, pinks, and purples in him. His tail was the most vibrant in his litter which is why I chose him. Some of the info I gathered on pastel type...

Re: Boa not eating

Be careful about "cooking" feeders. Boas aren't designed to digest "cooked" food. All of mine except the pickiest baby will take room temp thawed feeders. Roughly 80 degrees F. My 3 month old baby...

Re: Boa not eating

Bad breeder if he doesn't know for sure if the snakes he sells have or have not eaten. Even more so to sell a snake too young as to get rid of snakes before they know for certain they will eat, poop,...
