My Brazilian Rainbow Terrarium

I have my Brazilian in a 75 gallon with a plexiglass top. Substrate is eco earth mixed with some reptile bark, moss with mesh and hydroballs underneath. Heated overhead with a 100w ceramic heat emitter and a large under tank heating mat. Temperature on hot side ranges from 83 to 90 with the cool side ranging from 74 to 78. Humidity stays right around 90%. I hope you guys enjoy it and perhaps have some suggestions.

Well, this is quite the elaborate habitat. I love how the water bowl is partially buried in the moss.

It's a Lagoon water dish. So by design it sits below the substrate. I thought it looked nicer than a traditional water bowl. And thank you for the compliment

Re: My Brazilian Rainbow Terrarium

It's in the works. I have plans for some vines and branches. Right now he climbs the artificial tree and vines fairly often. I set this terrarium up about a week ago so there is still more work to be done.

Your enclosure looks beautiful.

I'm curious about the temp variations though. Are your UTH and CHE regulated by a thermostat?

Re: My Brazilian Rainbow Terrarium

Thermostat is coming in the mail early this week. Recently in NJ we have had days in the 20's and days in the 50's. The tank is against an exterior wall so I believe that's why I've seen such a big variation.

How do you remove it for cleaning without disrupting the substrate?

Re: My Brazilian Rainbow Terrarium

The top layer of substrate does get disturbed when I pull it out. I have the bowl sitting on the mesh above the hydroballs so that part doesn't get affected. When I put the bowl back in it's just a matter of pushing the eco earth back around it. This is a link to the water bowl I'm sure it will make more sense when you see it.
