Re: Basement reptile room

As for the empty space, I'm not entirely sure. My want list includes a classic tessera cornsnake, green bush rat snake, eastern chain king, a pit, and possibly a caramel carpet python. The list is subject to change, the pit and prasina came as a result of this forum.

Re: Basement reptile room

Well, to speak on behalf of pits, mine has surlrised me with how much I came to really enjoy her as both a display and a handling snake. I will probably end up with another in the future. Lol

Re: Basement reptile room

I have no defence for this weakly planned argument lol.

Though I really don't see myself with more than one sand boa or spotted python. =P

Re: Basement reptile room

I must agree, you have an established history of having the spine of a gummy bear. It's okay, the first step is admitting it

Re: Basement reptile room

Oh, I fully admut it! I may end up with more king snakes, carpets, boas, BPs, ect, but the spotted and sandy are not so great as to have more than one each. I even traded the 2nd sandy I had just to have only one lol. Don't get me wrong, I am sooooo very happy to have them in my collection. But I have zero interest in multiples lol.

Re: Basement reptile room

What are the cages in the second to last picture with like a 2 level basement? Door up high and then tapers down below.

Those would be large concrete mixing tubs with 2x6s screwed into the tops to make them taller. They don't house snakes but I suppose they could if I'd used solid boards for the top and added a display case lock to the front sliding doors.

Thanks. I do have a habit of stretching my maintenance time in there. Most days I could be out in 15 minutes, but sometimes it seems that every critter in the room needs to be handled while some random cage task gets completed...
