Lightbulb I discovered something about my lizard.

Before I start, I want you all to realize that I currently don't need help with anything. My leopard gecko is still eating and feeling rather well.

So, a while back, I decided it was time to clean his cage. When I started, Ninety-Nine was relaxing in his favorite log, which at that time had been placed at the warm side of his cage. As I was working, I began to wonder if it was the log he liked or the fact that it was on the warm end. So when I returned the lizard to his cage, the two hiding places had now switched places.

For a few days, it seemed as though Ninety-Nine liked the warm end better than the cool one, but now I think he has figured out where his favorite log is; he has begun sleeping in it again, even though it's on the cool end this time.

So, what do you guys think of this? One of these days, I'm going to post a photo of the lizard in his log.

I guess he just really likes that log.

Probably. The last time I saw, he had returned to the warm end, so at least he still has the energy to thermoregulate every now and then.

Here's Ninety-Nine in his log after I cleaned the cage.

There IS another one on the other side. He simply prefers one over the other.

Ahahha that's funny. He's like "No. This log. This log is the best. Better than that identical log over there, even."

Yep. That pretty much sums it up.

The other log isn't necessarily identical, but it does have a similar texture.

This is interesting! I've noticed mine having preferences as well, one sleeps in the log and the other on top. Always the same gecko in the same location.

Re: I discovered something about my lizard.

So lately, I have come to realize that Ninety-Nine decided to poop near the top left corner of his enclosure instead of the bottom right corner from now on. Also, someone cleaned his cage again while I was out camping, so the logs are back in their original positions (the lizard still prefers the same log though).
