Re: Animal Attack/Bite statistics

Most people that keep hots or giants do so responsibly, if they didnt the numbers would prove it. But some only see what they want to see. Of course they can be dangerous, but they can be kept...

Re: Herps you don't think should be kept as pets?

I think any legislation is ridiculous, the statistics dont back up the commonly believed conceptions about snakes. Pretty soon you won't be able to use a lawnmower without a permit. I dont know...

Re: At the end of my rope....

Every cat I've ever lived with that got out came back on its own. Sometimes they were gone for a week or two but they always find their way home. Im betting one of these days youll open your door and...

Re: Any Ohio garter snake owners?

I just asked a Cleveland policeman about garter snakes and he looked at me like a baboon was crawling out of my nose and walked away without saying a word. Lol. I know I'm not giving you any useful...

Re: Reptiles & Emotions

The only emotion that I'd say I've seen in a snake might be fear. Run for life, do anything to get away fear.

Re: Reptiles & Emotions

My female boa loves me! Every so often she gives me kisses. There are a few bloodstains in the carpet to prove it.

Re: Uh-oh. I'm probably gonna' be in trouble

I think that would be an interesting legal argument. If you owned a morph, that wasnt found in the wild, of an indigenous species wouldn't you still be legal within the intent of the law since the...

Re: Uh-oh. I'm probably gonna' be in trouble

I understand the point but lets keep it realistic. Even in the dullest of communities, an illegal corn snake wouldn't be a blip in the local paper. Comparing it to New Brunswick is ludicrous.

Re: Uh-oh. I'm probably gonna' be in trouble

No doubts, if an illegally kept corn escaped and strangled 2 children the entire hobby would be in jeopardy! Be responsible!

Re: Your view of the reptile hobby

I'd like to see less emphasis on morphs and cheaper and better cages sold locally. Personally, I think some normals are better looking than the morphs. I think the hobby is in better shape than...

Re: This is sick! Python breeder arrested in California

I can't imagine caring for 400 snakes myself. I don't think I could do it with my day job. I'd imagine it being a full time job caring for that many snakes.

Re: This is sick! Python breeder arrested in California

So you've heard about it? Lol. He didn't kill her, she died of natural causes, he just didn't want to let her go. No one suspected anything. She died and he went on as if nothing happened.

Re: This is sick! Python breeder arrested in California

My dad worked with a guy who was taking care of his elderly mother. I guess she was dead for 8 or 9 years before anyone found out. She died in her bed and the guy went on as if she were still alive....

Re: Pine

The guy I got my corn snakes from always kept them on pine bedding. They were 8 years old when I got them. I'm not saying anyone should use pine bedding, i switched to aspen when I got them.

Re: my small scale breeding setup

Mice are by far the worst for cannibalism. A little extra stress in the first few days after babies are born and they eat them. I've always got too many or not enough mice. Its hard to get consistent...

Re: Another avoidable tragedy with live feeding

I think a big part of the problem is the information you find when you search online. There is a ton of very bad information out there. For a beginner to sift thru it and find solid advice, it can be...

Re: GTP questions about behavior..help?

I've always wondered about that one. If the snakes exist in the wild where there are no cage dimensions, how can a cage be too big?
