Heat lamp enclosure.

Hello, I would like to place a heat lamp inside my inclosure for a basking area. I have a cages by design cage with a RBI heater mounted on the top. I am not sure what would be safe to use / sturdy enough to make a box enclosing the heat lamp. I have built a box out of machine cloth (galvanized wire) but I am not sure of the Safety with the wire ( possible toxic with heat given off by lamp).
Any ideas for the materials I could use?

Thank you.

Re: Heat lamp enclosure.

I'm fairly sure the ones i had once upon a time were aluminium, but they were storebought not home made.

Also welcome to the forum!

Re: Heat lamp enclosure.

If you have a Radiant Heat Panel you shouldn't need an additional heat source, unless the RHP is too small and not heating the enclosure enough?

Re: Heat lamp enclosure.

It’s a 160w heater that uses a Vivarium VE-300X2 Thermostat. It’s mounted in a Cages by Design 6 x 2 x 4 enclosure. My concern is not getting a warming area in the bottom of the enclosure.
