Can Snakes Swim In Saltwater Pools?

So once school starts back up im gonna get myself a corn snake, and im wondering if i can put my snake in a saltwater pool? Its my grandmas pool, (shes not too far so it wouldnt be too stressful during the trip) so i dont know if she uses any chemicals, i can ask if needed. Thanks in advance!

Re: Can Snakes Swim In Saltwater Pools?

subjecting a terrestrial snake to any kind of pool at all is a very bad idea, please don't.

I must be missing something; I don't get the question at all.

There is no need to put a corn snake in a pool or a tub of water. Soaking and swimming are unnecessary for a healthy snake.

I don't see why you would let a healthy snake swim either, or bathe them for that matter.

I don't put my snakes in a tub, and trust me.. they can poop fine. Especially when i just cleaned.

+1 Healthy snakes poop without aid from soaking.

Re: Can Snakes Swim In Saltwater Pools?

I put my snakes in the tub only when they make a real mess of their cage to clean them off and sometimes if they've had a bad shed. I would never put them in a pool, let alone a salt water one. There's no telling what the chemicals or the salt would do and it's a risk I would rather not take.

I do like it when the snakes poop in the tub, but it's not necessary, just means I don't have to clean their tub/cage again.

Doing so offers absolutely zero benefits to your future snake, and possibly offers harm. I'm not sure why this is even a thought, honestly?

No! The chemicals and salt could harm your snake very badly!

God I hate it when they do this... I've been lucky a few times when I'm pulling them out to clean and I've noticed they're about to go I'll take them to the toilet and massage it out and just flush it down.
