Can my Florida Green Snake Live in the Same Tank As My Garter.

I have young Green Snake and a 1 1/2 Garter Snake. My garter is in a 30G habitat and was wondering if my new young Green Snake can live with him. They both seem docile. Thanks!

Most snakes canīt be housed together because they will act aggressive towards each other. Even if they act docile towards you, MOST snakes do not like each other. (Hence most.)
Also... green snakes need different substrate, heating and humidity requirements, so no, I do not recommend it.

I wouldn’t do it. I’d only keep garters with other garters of the same size and gender.

I wouldn't. While their care requirements are very similar, I'd be concerned that the Garter may attempt to eat the other snake. While garters aren't big snake eaters, they're very opportunistic and can get really antsy when they're in "feeding mode."

That being said - it could work. You'd need plenty of space so they wouldn't run into each other too often. That 30g is too small for both in my opinion. Even in a bigger enclosure, I still wouldn't be surprised if you checked in one day and the green was missing and the garter was a little fatter.
