Re: It's The Shed thread.......
Lol, not meant to, the baby corns skin just seems really tight cos of the little scales and stay together real well. My daughter likes taking them to school more than the big skind as they dont fall apart so quickly.

Re: It's The Shed thread.......
i have a 6'4" dumerils shed hanging on my wall lol.
when they shed they pull the skin inside out. i was bored one day and i took like 5 minutes pulling it all the way back through so it wasn't inside out lol.

Re: It's The Shed thread.......
Any sheds that are not soiled & easy to stretch out again I save in a big bag & they get handed out at shows & demos for kids.
When the collections all up in full swing its not uncommon for numerous snakes to shed the same day, they are just trash to me but kids LOVE them, Mark

Re: It's The Shed thread.......
Anyone remember my snake that died by crawling back into it's own shed?

Re: It's The Shed thread.......
One of my scrubs tried to eat his own shed. I had to snip it wit a pair of scissors.

I think the reason I like snakes so much is because we used to have a teacher, Mr.S, who would bring in his collection of corn and garter snakes with him to class all day once a year. He would bring different sheds too and let us feel them. It ensured no student was afraid of snakes.
And Wayne that is horrible, I'm so sorry.

When dealing with as many snakes as we do (the '08 breeding season over 400 babies in the house) it's inevitable that some will die, some go out rather "normally" and then there is the bizarre.
It's only the really freakish ones that I photograph.
Whenever possible, if I can figure out why they died, I make it a point to share my findings..
