Re: put down payment on some snakes

Hey congrats on your soon to be Milk snakes! I know Doug, and his extremes are very sweet! Well, worth the wait. I raed you are gonna mate a male albino Nelson to a T-positive female? Is that correct? Unless your male is het for T-positive, I believe you will get all normal looking babies, which would then be double hets for T-pos, and normal amel albino as well.

Cool! I didn't know it was co=dominant? Those are still fairly new to the hobby so, they very well, could be. I know most T-pos are not co dominant with the T-negs in other snakes. I think I do remember shannon Brown saying that they were doing some strange things when he bred them? Good luck, that would be cool!

Yep...the T+ is allelic with an amel (t-)...... but not co dominant with normals....so I would not callnthe gene co dominant.....

Re: put down payment on some snakes

I was just using what I was told I'm new to this gentic stuff quite confusing but I've been told I will get some T+ so I'm hoping I get and male and a female cause I really don't want to spend 400 bucks for one

Yes you will get some T+ if you only if you breed T+ x T- or T+ x T+........but if you breed a T+ x normal you will get normal hets.....

Re: put down payment on some snakes

We have a pair of the extremes (one of the few if not the only pair in Canada) they should be big enough to go next year and I can't wait! There's already a HUGE waiting list of people that want to be on "the list" when babies do come. They are GORGEOUS, you will absolutely love them!
