Re: Every Reptile You've Every kept

Yeah it won't last long. I bet if you could find someplace for it you would have a Dwarf Caiman in there.

LOL...yeah I certainly would like to try one! those wedge heads look cool as hell as adults. Someday perhaps, we'll have to see. I hear they are a fairly land-loving croc. Do a lot of nighttime strolling from what I've read...would make and interesting keep.

I keep trying to talk Lori into one. The deal is if we get a house in a few years with some land I can build an out door enclosure for a pair.

Re: Every Reptile You've Every kept

Ok, I started very young, and if it moved I tried to catch it. My Dad tells when I was 4 and we lived next to lake and I brought a snake home and tried to keep it in my dresser drawer. I guess my mom had a cow. So as what I remember,

Blue belly lizards
Gopher snakes,, lots and lots pobably over 50 in my life.
Red Racers, mean devils
Blue Racers
Horned Toads, lots of them two
common toads
bull snake (a lot like a gopher snake but darker)
yellow dotted salimanders
all kinds of garter snakes. My family was visiting relatives in Iowa one summer. I was about 11 I think, anyways walking down this alliway I saw a snake, garter I think. So being me, I chased it and was trying to catch it. Well it went up under this tile, the type they put on roofs, the asphalt tile. But it was on the sides of this house. I tried to just pull it up a little ways to catch the snake. Well to my surprise I found a city of snakes. I bet there was a hundred snakes up under that tile. Not knowing any better I got the peoples trash can and started filling it up with snakes. I had 38 of them before I realized that I had torn almost a third of the tile of the back of the house. I dragged my load of snakes back to my families house and they made me let them go. I wanted to take them back to California and sell them to my friends and make a fortune. Oh well....
I had a veriety of water snakes that I caught in the wild.
lots of anoles from when I was in the service at Ft. Polk.
I even caught a big snapping turtle, but desided to let it go after in took half my dogs nose off.
ball pythons,
common rt boas
salmon boas
and now red group boas
geckos from my windows in Florida
tree frogs
bull frogs
Toads lots of toads, always thought how cool it was to watch them flick that tongue out and grab a bug
California King snakes
and as old as I am I know I am forgetting something.
