Yup, blame it on Vanan!

Hate to be cruel, Jordan, but wait till Ryan gets more photos online. Some of the shots were great. Are you planning on coming back in May? Mothers day weekend is always a blast, if the weather cooperates. 3 years in a row we have found the first one out April 21.

wow, i'm just catching up on threads...

those are gorgeous babies!!!

I just got my Vine snake at the last expo here.

How hard is it to get them onto mice? He/she's doing well on anoles, but will only take one at a time...

I think it may be a juvenile...

Here a pic that can give an idea of size (if you ignore the silly Boston in the background)

yours is an adult.... thats an ahaetulla nasuta... i also got one at the show . i got a HUGE one off of mark, that is also gravid . it takes time and patience to switch them over to rodents... i have never seen a nasuta eat a rodent, but i suppose it will be just as hard as a prasnia... How are you keeping your vine? Just wondering...

Take care

Jordan

He/she's in a 20 gallon tank with about 8 fake plants webbing across everywhere.

Misting 3x a day
heating pad taped to one side
basking lamp
water dish (that he never uses)

-won't take more than one anole every 5 days... I'm gonna try to see if house geckos are more palatable this week

I haven't tried medicating for parasites yet, because I'm honestly not sure how to go about it (getting prescription drugs for a venomous snake from a vet sounds like a stupid thing to do). Any suggestions?

I have treated the cage with Provent-A-Mite with each cleaning though...

thanks for the advice, Jordan!

Be careful with what chems you use around your vine snake... they have a really bad amune system. thats why they have so many parasites. where did you get your information from?

mostly from here and this thread plus some old articles from Vivarium, Reptiles and bits from my many snake books...

Although I know its the smart folks like you who are successfully keeping them (and having babies!) that I'm really looking for advice from...

is there anything I should change/add? How about medicating (should i or shouldn't i)? where can I get meds from and how do you actually treat the snake?

thanks again for the advice and any forthcoming as well!
