Re: Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo
That would be great. I'd come as long as I wasn't snowed in.

Re: Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo
Yeah we want to call all the vendors that go to Lynns show and then expand on that list and ask them what time works best and what is a reasonable table price and get an idea of whats best for the vendors and go from there. We are thinking that Its all about the vendors, if there not happy then there is no show. People go to Lynns show just because its convenient and its always been there, but she is angering more and more vendors and regardless of weather the vendor list is getting sparse imo.

Re: Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo
Not only is she angering the vendors, she's angering the buyers.

Re: Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo
I'm curious, but what's she doing? I'm itching to help set up an event like this. I got a taste of it at my last job and think helping and getting the experience will be invaluable in what I want to do. I would be willing to help set things up even if I can't make it to the actual event.

Re: Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo
First off, for a long time she made it so other people supplying feeders other that her company's sister company couldn't vend. She started with one booth, then two, then three, now six. She kicked out a smaller breeder (with wonderfully healthy snakes) because they pointed out that a bigger breeder had a snake at the show showing signs of a URI. She has a set list of rules that she lets some vendors break but not others (examples, no sharing tables, no venomous, no imports). She's openly rude to customers (I was helping a friend pick out a ball python for his son and we stopped at her company's booth. The kid picked out a snake he liked and asked to see it. She said that it wasn't a petting zoo. We told her we were genuinely interested in purchasing a snake, and we would take our business elsewhere. She made some very loud and rude remarks about the guy and his son as we were walking away).

Kyle, if youre willing to drive a little, Jason Kruses's Kansas City Reptile Show is every other month on the Kansas side. Then theres the Kansas City show on the Missouri side run by the Missouri Herp Society and thats twice a year. Then theres Omaha in April and October as well as Des Moines in April and October or November. I love going to shows like this. Theyre always fun and vending at a table is a blast.
