I'm sorry about your gecko. But I wanted to make one comment. Missing an eye doesn't mean the gecko will need hand-feeding. One of my geckos is blind in one eye and he's been eating on his own for 3 years and he reproduces regularly.

I keep a heavy rock on top of my cage to prevent my cat from ever getting in or my leo from ever getting out.

Sorry to hear about you Gecko Dark Angel.

I know they suck for looks but i've been using sterilite containers for a while now and have never had an escape and they are definatly cat resistant. I use the 27L ones that are about 17X24X6 inches. Cost about $6 Can. at Walmart. They have survived being knocked off a table and dropping 3 feet onto concrete without opening. Needless to say my cats can be a little destructive. An anvil and a couple of Bricks keep them from knocking them off anymore so you do need to secure them as they're very light.


I did just buy one of those wire screens for my 20G Long in the last week but they aren't cheap, $40ish. But definately cat proof as well.
