HI Steve,
Your photo, like your illustration of a vara-cage says a 1000 words! Does the tail thicken/thin with sexual readiness = horny? I know the fat storage and muscles in tail are high majority of space in the tails....
You always give me somethin to think about...and helps keep my mind off other 'junk' = Thanks!
Many Thanks Steve,
mark

Looks great Jeza ! Like I said in the PM, mine took a couple of years to settle down, but he's awesome now. He's pretty much stopped growing at about 3 and a half feet. Eats like a pig too ! Keep your fingers well clear at feeding time ......... trust me on that !! They've got huge teeth...... Cheers, Les

Very pretty lizard. I've had a couple myself...they can be a bit skittish, but the ones I had were pretty good about not biting.
Mostly poopers though.
I've heard things about not feeding goldfish because of all the parasites....maybe F/T is good though.
I had mine before I ever heard of parasite risks and fed them golfish and for a treat, crayfish.
They ate mice as well.
BTW,if you notice a pinkish secretion around the edge of the mouth it's not something to worry about.(from what I've read)
Apparently it's a trait peculiar to the species...both of mine had this pinkish "saliva",which I first took to be an injury to the mouth.

Thanks alot guys!
He gets this pink saliva when he chew on my gloves. I took of the gold fish, wich fish does not have parasites (and dosen't cost 4$ each!) and have a decent size?
Cheekeebandito, I'm looking foward to see more pics of yours! And I don't need to keep my finger clean at feeding time for now as there's no way he's going to eat in front of my! He's way too shy.
Haven't found a name yet...
